Overdrive iPad App Updated
If you are using your iPad to download eBooks from the library, there is an update for the Overdrive Media Console app that will greatly improve your reading experience. In February, Overdrive released a new version of the app that is optimized for the iPad. The original Overdrive app was specifically created for the iPhone, but was usable on the iPad. Those of you using this version might have noticed that your screen looks a little fuzzy when you open a book.
You can install the new app by going to your App Store. It will appear as an update, or you can search for Overdrive Media Console and choose to install the iPad version. This version takes the place your old version, so you will not have to worry about transferring any content.
BlackBerry App Now Supports ePub Books
Overdrive has also released a new version of their app for BlackBerry devices that allows you to download ePub books from the library. Go to Overdrive’s software page for installation instructions. The new version should also be available in BlackBerry App World soon.
Kindle Library Lending
The details are still coming in, but this week Amazon and Overdrive announced a program to launch ”later this year” that will allow our patrons to download the library’s eBooks to their Kindles. Read the press release from Overdrive for more information on this exciting development!
