Thus ends our second annual Adult Summer Reading program. We would like to say thanks to the over 440 people who signed up this year. Hopefully, all of you were encouraged to do some extra reading this summer or found an interesting program to attend. We would also like to say an extra thank you to those of you who submitted book reviews. We received more than 140 reviews and have posted many of them here on the blog. You can continue to check back here to see what your fellow library patrons are recommending. If you would be so kind, please help us out by completing our online survey. Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated.
One final congratulations goes out to Kelsey D. of Columbia for winning this week’s Barnes & Noble gift certificate drawing.
The One Read program will be kicking off at the beginning of September, so watch for the list of programs that will be coming out soon. This year’s selection, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” is a fascinating work of narrative nonfiction that promises to inspire a lot of great discussion. You can sign up online or at any of our branch locations. Signing up lets us know how many of our community members are reading the book and enters you to win a copy.
We hope to have you all back next year when the theme will be “Between the Covers.” Sounds pretty exciting, right? Until then, happy reading.
