It’s quite a treat living with a dog and a cat, especially when you enjoy their different approaches to life. The cats in my family always adopted us. Each one showed up hungry and homeless and moved right in without a moment’s hesitation. Sometimes our pets would confuse us by reversing roles. The cat would fetch and come when you called out her name, but the dog couldn’t possibly be bothered. No matter what shenanigans my two friends are up to they keep my world full of humor and unconditional love. If you’re thinking about bringing a pet into your home, or if you’re like me and you simply could use some additional instruction, try out some of the great pet books at the library.
