Man Versus Nonfiction

Book cover for Cinderella Man by Jeremy SchaapI can’t say enough great things about our library staff. They are by turns extraordinarily patient, funny, artistic, kind, interesting and–as I’ve recently discovered–crazy.

I’m referring to Mike, a member of our awesome IT staff. I knew he was a book guy (see his review of “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline) as well as a tech guy, but until recently I had no idea that he had Grand Reading Ambitions. Turns out that Mike has decided that his job and newborn baby won’t keep him busy enough, and that he should try to read a book off of every section of shelving in the library’s nonfiction collection. You think your to-read list is long? His numbers in the thousands.

You can read all about his ambitious project at From time to time we’ll share some of Mike’s posts here at DBRL Next so you can follow his progress. Good luck, Mike! You are going to need it.
